Control Resonant passes one million sales, becoming Remedy's fastest-selling game
Control Resonant has sold one million copies, making it the fastest-selling game Remedy has ever released. It is also a big win for the studio's first self-published game of this scale, coming a year after FBC Firebreak flopped and left Remedy with heavy losses.
- Control Resonant reached one million sales on October 15.
- Remedy's third-quarter revenue rose from €12.2 million to €39.6 million.
- Close to half of the game's players are new to Control.
A much-needed hit for Remedy
Remedy's third-quarter revenue came in at €39.6 million, more than triple the €12.2 million it made in the same period last year. Preorders and launch sales of Control Resonant drove the jump, and only the game's first seven days on sale fall inside that quarter.
Profit is still thin, at €0.6 million or 1.5% of revenue. Even so, it's a sharp turnaround from late 2025, when Remedy posted a €16.4 million operating loss after FBC Firebreak flopped.
Plenty of new faces, and more could follow
CEO Jean-Charles Gaudechon called the game a defining milestone for the company. He also said close to 50% of its players are new to Control, so it's reaching well beyond the people who played the original.
There's still room to grow, too. Remedy says 2.4 million people have the game wishlisted but haven't bought it yet, and getting it to more players is now the studio's priority. Its other projects are moving ahead in the meantime, though sales over the rest of the year will decide how 2026 turns out.
